I am not sure that it is a common knowledge 'how to wrestle with' what appears as our disappearance, and I think thats half the problem - that to accept we will may be just too much for us to deal with. The digital is always process centered for sure, as the creative often can be also. Perhaps we have to learn how to disappear..... be ephemeral and see what arises from that. I once listened to a lecture - that discussed the notion of 'how to be private' in this socially mediated world of ours. They came to the conclusion that it was not 'how to be private' that we should concern ourselves with, but 'how to be public' - in carrying this prominent existence forward, should we also not learn from algorithmic processes - that things are finite. The difficulty is, that many of our practices are inherently based on our humanity - and quite an embodied one at that - what place does the in-human or non human have in this? What is it that I wish to leave of myself and in what way? I wonder if its time representation left us for the 'real' thing?!?

Ok, so as I have thought about this more throughout the day, I am inclined to wonder if, based on the income figures, there might actually be more demand than supply *at an affordable price point*. That is, if we're going to think about theatre in terms of supply and demand (and I don't necessarily think that we should), we need to consider the pricing models. If at higher incomes, people tend to see more live events relative to media forms in comparison with those at lower income levels, then, might it be reasonable to think that if live events were cheaper (or more people earned above the $150 threshold), we would see more consumption of live events relative to media versions across the income spectrum?

Hi there,

I enjoy keeping up with the articles on your site. I came across a new dance related website that is kinda like You Tube for dancers. It is great to see otherwise untechy dancers embracing technology. I thought you might be interested.
